Why Cosmetic Dental Bonding?

What Is Cosmetic Dental Bonding?

Dental bonding is a procedure in which a tooth-colored resin is applied to the tooth and hardened with a special light, which ultimately “bonds” the material to the tooth to restore or improve person’s smile. Bonding is done to repair a decayed, chipped, fractured, discolored tooth.

How Does Cosmetic Dental Bonding Work?

Dental bonding is a rather simple procedure. First, Dr. Hammond will clean the area where they will apply the bonding resin. Then, they will choose a resin that matches your tooth color. Afterwards, they will attach and mold the resin to the shape of the tooth. The resin is applied layer by layer until the area has the desired look. Dr. Hammond will then harden the resin using an ultraviolet light. Once the resin has hardened, the last step is to make sure that the tooth looks correct. The final step is to polish the tooth.
